We were going to order Chinese but I went online and found this recipe. It turned out better than the restaurant version! I used round steak and marinated it for about 90 min. I had to use powdered ginger because my fresh ginger was no longer fresh. I also doubled the recipe. Everything else was done as written. I would reduce the amount of soy sauce a bit as it was salty but overall a delicious rendition of beef and broccoli. Thanks.

Wow, Throw away the take out menu's! This is better than anything I get at the local Chinese take outs! I cheated a little and just dumped Kikkoman's Teriyaki sauce/ marinate and Kikkoman's lite soy sauce together and added the garlic and onions, as well as the cornstarch. But we have already made this dish twice in a two week period and they are screaming for more already! Thank you!

Loved the tangy-ness of this recipe! I didn't have fresh ginger, so I subbed powdered; I used rice wine vinegar; and peanut oil; don't have a wok so I par-steamed the broccoli before throwing it in the pan; cooked everything on real high heat -- mmmm! This is a keeper!

Wow!! This was amazing. I prepared it exactly according to the recipe. I was a little worried about the ginger, because I don't much like the taste, but it was PERFECT. Thanks.

Cut the sugar in half and it was still pretty sweet - but delicious. I also added crushed red pepper to mine and served it over angel hair pasta.

Call me cooking in cairo Chinese-Style with this masterpiece recipe! This was AWESOME!!! I used 3 teaspoons of white sugar as I had no brown, three cloves crushed garlic, marinated for over an hour. After I browned the beef, I added onion and let cook a bit, then added broccoli last. WOW, this was so so so good! Served with steamed white rice and spicy vegetable spring rolls. A new favorite here in Cairo- thanks so much Sassy Sandra for this easy DELICIOUS recipe!! *****10 stars*****

AWESOME!!!! This is a really easy and delicious recipe. I added frozen stir-fry veggies and canned baby corn with about 1/2 the broccoli becuase my kid loves it, and it was a huge hit. It tastes just like Chinese take-out. I left out the ginger 'cause I was out, but it was still excellent. My and my three year old even ate it for lunch the next day!!!

A little on the salty side for me... But, the meat came out great (I marinaded it all day before making the dish). I liked it a lot!

Very easy.I added sliced carrots( my son needs to eat lots of veggies for a medical condition),used frozen broccoli and omitted the ginger( was all out!). I served it with whole wheat spaghetti( as thats the only noodle I had in the house).Next time I will add some dried crushed red pepper to the marinade because we like the heat, but the flavour was just perfect as written.A definite keeper. Thanks for sharing

Very good. It took me a lot longer to prepare than it should have though. It was easy to make once I had it on the stove though. I cut the beef fully frozen which made it a lot easier to cut. Because it was so thin, it thawed easily waiting for the marinade. I doubled the sauce with no problem. Served it with rice. I used a few shakes of ground ginger. I usd frozen brocolli because thats all I had and I used jarred garlic because I couldnt find any fresh bulbs. It has such a wonderful taste. It really does taste like the beef and brocolli you pay others to make! Id make this when friends come over.

This is so good! Very easy to make, too! I used garlic powder instead of the crushed garlic. I wanted to take a picture of this but the family ate it up before I had a chance to! We LOVE this and I'll definitely be making this again!! Thankyou!

Great recipe. I halved the amount of soy sauce to 1/4 and it was perfect. 1/2 cup just sounded like way too much. I also added more broccoli and there was plenty of sauce for all of it.

Ok, call me crazy but I haven't wanted to go in a Chinese restaurant since all that Year of the Dog stuff came out. So I've been checking out recipes online. I made this one for dinner tonight. I browned the beef in small batches and then took it out of the pan to do the veggies. I couldn't help just "testing" the meat to see how it tasted. So I took a little piece and popped it in my mouth and I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Finally after trying numerous beef and broccoli recipes, I found the perfect one. I can't say anything bad about this dish at all. I doubled the marinade for the beef because we like a lot of sauce, other than that I changed nothing. Just make sure you boil the sauce because you've had raw meat marinating in it. Sassy's Beef and Brocolli is definitely a keeper. It may even become Sheila's Beef and Brocolli when I serve it to guests! I hope Sassy won't mind.

This was great. I marinated for 4 hours in a ziploc in the fridge. I cooked the beef a little at a time, removing from the pan when done so it didn't get overcooked. Then I added the rest of the marinade and the water for steaming the broccoli and red onions (add the water to the ziploc bag first to "rinse" out the remaining marinade). I added the marinade early since I wanted to be sure it cooked thoroughly since it was with the raw meat. Added the beef and onions, topped with thinly sliced scallions, heated though. So good. Will ba adding this to the rotation!

This was the BEST dinner I have made in a long time! My entire family loved it and it was so easy. I marinated the beef overnight, which made making dinner very quick. I also added chunky pieces of red onion. Thanks for posting this Sassy it was wonderful!!!

Amazingly delicious. I served it with pork fried rice, and my family ADORED it. It's so much more economical to make our own beef and broccoli, and this tastes like take-out Chinese! We loved it, and will be making it again and again. My mom said that she thought the ginger flavor of the sauce was a bit too strong (she's never been a big ginger fan), but I love ginger and thought the sauce was PERFECT. Thank you so much! Yum!

Excellent. So easy, and had to freeze leftovers when we went out of town...reheated beautifully. May be able to get dear hubby to eat veggies now. :-)
