very nice dish. i used half the quantity of water/soy sauce/sugar and vinegar (i used rice wine vinegar). you could get away with a bit more broccoli but i would steam it first to give it a head start as the dish comes together so quickyl. Really nice Sandra xx

Just so-so. Too much soy sauce for my taste.

This was very easy to make, which is wonderful since this was one of my first attempts at making Chinese food. I added 1 medium carrot, thinly sliced, otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. Next time I would make a couple of adjustments: I would double the recommended amount of broccoli (we're broccoli freaks, not sure if everyone would add more broccoli). As my first attempt was too saucy (and sauce was thin). I think adding the extra broccoli would make the dish less saucy. Also, I would add another carrot. My dad LOVED this recipe - kept telling me it tasted fresher and better than our local Chinese food place. My husband and I both liked this recipe. I will be making this again. THANKS!

I don’t normally don’t put beef and broccoli on my plate when I go to a Chinese Buffet. So I ask my wife. She said this is very good and give it 5 stars. It did need more cornstarch. Next time we make it we will add a heaping tablespoon of cornstarch to it. The sauce never thicken up for us and we did not want to wilt the broccoli. It tasted very good!

This was really good and with the detailed instructions it was very easy to make. There was something about it that didn't exactly taste like the Beef and Broccoli we get from our Chinese restaurant, but it was very tasty anyway!

i made a mistake and added ALL of the water into the marinade instead of half. so maybe that's y it didn't turn out as i expected. my daughter (age 7) wasn't too fond of it and thought it was a little salty. but my son (age 5) loved it. i'll try again this time exactly as written and will update my rating.

VERY GOOD served over brown rice! I think next time I'll get better grade meat and add some peppers. DH & I liked it....kids just said it was OK...but they're always hard to please.

I was hungry for stir fry and didn't want to go to the store, had all of this on hand. I thinly sliced some sirloin and marinated for 30-40 minutes. I was worried it should have marinated longer, but it turned out tender and great! Didn't have fresh broccoli but used frozen, just added it later and it turned out fine. Used rice wine vinegar and extra garlic. Topped with crushed red pepper. Very good and simple to make - will be making again. Ate it left over the next day and it was still delish!

This was really yummy! My first try at Beef and Broccoli and this recipe is a keeper! The only thing I will change next time is adding a bit less sugar as it was a tiny bit sweet for my taste. Oh, and add a little fire to it w/ red pepper flakes or Chinese hot sauce. But those things are just personal taste. This recipe is fantastic!

Wonderful stir fry! I doubled the sauce (which wasn't really necessary, there was plenty). I added 1 tsp of crushed red pepper to heat it up a bit. I used 1 tsp of powdered garlic instead of fresh and cut the ginger in half based on other reviews. My only problem was that my broccoli was way overcooked by the time the sauce was thickened. No problem though, next time I'll just steam the broccoli seperately and serve it layered. Thanks!

We really enjoyed this recipe. I used the salt-reduced soya sauce as I noted someone thought it was too salty. It was perfect with this. I will be making this again. Thanks Sandra.

Delicious and quick! Used ground ginger instead of fresh. A wee bit on the salty side for me though. Next time I'll use low-sodium soy sauce and maybe cut back on the amount used. Family loved it!

super delicious, we didnt think the ginger overpowered at all. were not ginger nuts but felt it tied in with all the other flavors wonderfully. the only thing we will do different next time is add a little more cornstarch for a thicker sauce. thanks for the fantastic dish.

I liked it, but DH said it was WAY too much ginger--I guess I'll cut it down or use dried.
