I thought this was very good. And for the person who commented before, it does have the "sour". "3 tablespoons rice wine vinegar" That's the sour. This was a very good take on hot and sour soup. I thought the tomato juice was a little strange for it before I made it, but it turned out quite good. Thank you for this recipe. I will definitely make it again. ^_^

Giving this five stars before I make it because I know I can adjust the seasonings a bit if needed to deserve five stars. To make this closer to the hot and sour soup I am used to, I will use tofu cubes instead of chicken and will add plenty of freshly ground black pepper. It sounds delightful, thanks!

Most Excellent!
I had to adjust this recipe due to a last minute decision to make this and a few items missing in my pantry. I substituted red wine vinegar for the rice wine vinegar and chives from my garden for the green onions. I also didn't have any chicken so it was omitted.
All the same, this turned out wonderfully with a great kick of spice and sourness! It will not disappoint! Thank you, Martha, for sharing the great recipe!
